Fighting Colon Cancer Together
Anglers for a Cure
A Passion For Fishing
Anglers for a Cure was co-founded by teen anglers and longtime friends Jordan Carroll and Matt Hahnemann in 2006, after Jordan's father, Doug Carroll, was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer in late 2004.
The young men sought to combine their love of fishing with a fierce dedication to helping find a cure a disease which claims the lives of over 50,000 Americans each year.
Jordan's beloved dad passed away just two weeks after the Inaugural Anglers For a Cure Tournament, knowing his family and friends would continue on in his memory through the mission of the foundation.
To be one cast closer to a cure for colon cancer is the goal of two young men who turned their passion for fishing into a life-saving mission.
“Everyone should have a colonoscopy at least by the age of 50. A simple screening is worth another day of your life.”

"Anglers is my outlet to change peoples' lives and to help make a difference."
